The old town was easy to reach on foot, and the subway station is just around the corner. The owners were friendly and easy to deal with. We spent the weekend at Gästehaus Schäfer and had a fantastic time. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and spotless, just as you'd hope. We'd love to return and will definitely recommend this guesthouse.

I'm glad someone tipped me off about this place, since I'll be in Düsseldorf more often soon. It feels like a hidden gem, and I feel comfortable here. It's a good, affordable option. They don't serve breakfast, but there is coffee and cookies or crispbread in the breakfast room.
