The room was comfortable and clean, with a good bed and what I needed for a short city visit. Staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, and the place feels cozy and well cared for. The entrance and shared areas are elegant and welcoming, with seasonal decorations adding a warm feel. The location is very handy, right by the Old Town and within walking distance of the Rhine promenade, shops, restaurants, and major sights. Some details are a little dated, and the sound insulation could be better. Still, it's a pleasant, convenient place to stay in Düsseldorf, and I'd gladly come back.

The rooms facing Carlsplatz market are the best, worth paying a little extra for. I've stayed at Das Carls twice now, and both visits were fabulous. I only wish breakfast offered a bit more for its price, maybe an espresso machine. It's cheaper to add breakfast when booking than to buy it in the morning. Everything else at Das Carls is wonderful, no notes. I only just found out there's a sauna, which I hadn't known about during my stays. I'll have to use it next time!

The location is perfect for exploring town and trying local restaurants, and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. It was my first stay here, and I'll definitely come again. Highly recommend.

I paid for three nights at Das carls hotel but left after just one, and the staff and manager didn't seem concerned. They refused to refund any of the money. The room was cold because the heating wasn't working, and it was dark and poorly maintained. The bathroom was dirty and outdated, with basic amenities missing, and there was no restaurant on site. Staff were rude and unhelpful, making an already disappointing stay worse. I strongly advise against staying here, it will ruin your trip. It's a dark, unwelcoming place that barely deserves two stars.

We spent a couple of lovely days here while visiting the city. The hotel is opposite the market, with clean, good-sized rooms. Staff were courteous and friendly.
