The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel and rooms are beautiful. Our family room had four single beds and was warm, with hot water for winter. Breakfast is available, but we had to leave early. Transport links to the main station are good. Smokers will need to go outside, as rooms like ours don’t have a balcony. In winter, a bath mat or carpet would help keep your feet off the cold floor after bathing or while using the toilet.

The neighborhood around the hotel was beautiful, and I’m glad our stay brought us to that part of the city. The hotel was clean and nice, with comfortable beds. I’d choose it again.

I booked through a booking portal a year ahead, and about a month ago the hotel began claiming my card was invalid. That made no sense, as I’ve used that card for years. I tried a friend’s Visa, which was rejected a few days later, then tested my Mastercard after putting extra money on it. I also asked why I was getting these messages. They never replied, and cancelled my booking. This happened on a weekend with a big convention and the UEFA European Football Championship, when people could be left stranded and desperate and hotels could see a chance to make a fortune. The same thing apparently happened to someone else a week before, judging by the review posted before mine. It’s shocking. The hotel cancels your room so it can put it back up for sale at double the price. I wouldn’t trust them, since you don’t know when they might do the same to you.

The location is perfect, with bus 737 right outside and the tram only about 50 metres away. Breakfast was good, and the toilet and shower area was perfect. The room got very hot in summer; the hotel offered a fan for a small extra charge. The bed was a bit soft, though some people might like that. It was okay overall, no complaints.

I think the hotel deliberately gets bookings cancelled when people reserve popular dates early at low prices. They claim the credit card details were entered incorrectly, even when they’re right, and then cancel the booking.
