Hotel am Spichernplatz

The bed was so good it made me question my own mattress at home, and I left strangely attached to the pillows. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff were super kind. Big thanks to Amir, Asmir, Katharina, and Zijada for their kindness and great energy. Zijada especially was efficient and always ready to help with a smile. 10/10, I'd happily “accidentally” book again.

The spa and sauna were the highlight for me, newly renovated and looking modern, clean, and great. Breakfast was decent, with enough variety to start the day, though nothing special. The rooms felt cramped and were quite small. Ventilation was really poor, so they felt stuffy much of the time and we had to keep the window open almost constantly for fresh air. Hotel Am Spichernplatz is an okay option in Düsseldorf, but the stay was a bit mixed. The spa was a real plus, while the room size and ventilation made things less comfortable than expected.

The apartment was fine with the door shut, but the smell of cigarette smoke was very strong as soon as I stepped into the corridors or stairwells. I don't smoke, so I noticed it a lot, and it was there constantly throughout the hotel. We were lucky to get one of the apartments. It was very spacious and had a decent view over the rooftops, with the TV tower in the distance. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the old town or city center, and there's a tram stop right outside with regular service. A taxi to or from the airport is about 25 euro, which works out cheaper than taking the tram to the central station and then a train if you're a family of four.

Cozy rooms with lots of storage, and the wellness area was nice and well organised. The location is really handy, close to the tram stop, and breakfast was fresh, with lots of choices. Good quality for the price, and the staff were very nice and helpful. The receptionists were especially friendly ☺️
