The room was a decent size and clean, but that’s the sort of thing you can get at a two-star hotel. For a four-star place, I expected more comfort and service. There were no toiletries or extras: no dental kit, cotton swabs, shower cap, slippers, shoehorn, or shoe brush, and there was no minibar. Although the hotel was recently renovated, the bathtub enamel is peeling. Reception tried to help, but one woman who looked Japanese spoke very little English and couldn’t follow even simple phrases, so I had to repeat everything twice. I can’t see this as a four-star hotel, barely three.

For a business trip, this is an excellent hotel, with spacious, clean rooms. They didn’t top up the water for three days, though, and the two separate single blankets didn’t keep me very warm.

Even with our kids along, the staff made sure we had what we needed and kept us smiling. The service was extraordinary, and I’d absolutely recommend voco Düsseldorf Hotel. Lydia, the manager, was amazing; Sanja and Joy at reception were so warm, Jan at the bar was great, and Juan, Mariam, Jasmine, and the rest of the breakfast team were wonderful. A huge thank you to everyone, including those whose names I may have forgotten, for making our stay so lovely.

The breakfast was decent, but otherwise this was a very dirty hotel. Even with the windows shut, there were lots of little bugs on the toilet ceiling and windowsill. Finding the parking lot was difficult too.

The garage parking was very convenient, and the service was very good. We’re a family of five, and the room gave all of us more than enough space. It was clean, and we liked the down pillows. When the kids wanted a late-night snack, we went downstairs and found complimentary pastries; the restaurant also had delicious wine and beer. It was exactly what we needed.
