After reading other guests' reviews, I can agree with their take: a lack of professionalism, rudeness, conceitedness, and seeming not to care. The accommodation also doesn't seem worth the quality. I'm glad I found a really awesome hotel instead, and I'll never even look in this one's direction. Here's what happened. I booked through Booking.com, then asked about breakfast after getting an automated message in German. I sent a slightly worried message to confirm, and got an “explosion” in response. The snobbish attitude and refusal to be nice to a potential guest shocked me. Then they cancelled my reservation on their end.

I don't often leave reviews, but feel I should share what happened. I had to cancel a booking for one large room three weeks before my planned arrival. The hotel insisted on keeping 90% of the payment and refunding only 10%, despite the three weeks' notice. They prefer all communication by email, and I found the tone of their messages very perfunctory, not what I'd personally consider good customer service. They do mention the cancellation policy on the booking page, but I was still stunned by how inflexible they were about accommodating guests. This was especially frustrating during a period with lots of events that can disrupt travel plans, with Covid and ongoing flight cancellations across Europe.

I booked through Booking for a business trip in November 2023, using my VISA credit card on the booking site. The day after, the hotel called saying they couldn't clear that card. I gave them another card number and asked them to call back if there was still a problem, but heard nothing until the day before arrival. Then Booking emailed to say my card couldn't be used. Someone from what seemed to be reception eventually emailed asking me to pay by wire transfer to an IBAN account. I hadn't received mail from that address before, so I asked them for the RIB. They replied rudely in German that they didn't provide it because the request was unusual. I cancelled through Booking, and they refused to accept the cancellation. The hotel doesn't seem suitable for international travel if it won't accept foreign credit cards. They were slow to act and communicated inappropriately, and were rude. Not providing appropriate bank information seems shady. I only haven't given zero stars because Google doesn't offer that option.

The map on Booking.com showed a completely different location when I booked. At reception, the staff were very rude and insulted me simply for asking for an invoice made out to my company. Business travelers should avoid this place.

Thomas was so friendly and helpful, and I'm glad my cousin suggested this place. I spent four nights here and really liked the cozy, one-of-a-kind boutique feel. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi was great, and breakfast was good with freshly brewed tea. Dankeschon
