Hotel Haus Rheinblick

The breakfast was sufficient, and having a shower and sink in the room was useful. It was easy to reach and within walking distance of the Christmas markets. The room was well ventilated, but there’s no elevator, just stairs. Noise from the bar downstairs went on until 1 AM. I also spotted a silverfish on the wall. It’s harmless, but I’d want the hotel owners to keep an eye on them so the bugs don’t eat the sheets.

The room had everything I needed, and the shared bathroom down the hall was always perfectly clean. The included breakfast was better than I expected, with a pretty good spread. It’s a great-value place for a short stay, right in the Altstad. The hotel is a bit dated and noisy, but neither caused me any major trouble. Some might call the rooms small; I found them efficient.

The location was incredibly convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My private room was comfortable, and the breakfast was simply stunning, with lots of fresh choices and a couple of packaged baked items that were handy to take out during the day. I shared a toilet with another room but had my own shower and sink, which was no problem at all for the price. A simply wonderful stay for the money.

The receptionist was really friendly and helpful, and the room was clean with fresh towels every day. It’s a great location, five minutes from the Ubahn, metres from the river, and surrounded by restaurants, bars, and cafés. There’s no lift, and some rooms share a toilet. I hate sharing one, so I specifically asked for a private toilet and got a room with its own bathroom. Ask for a back room, away from the street. The first two nights were okay and things quieted down by 22:00-22:30, but on my last night the bar below or beside the hotel played music really loudly for hours, even though it was Tuesday. I was surprised, since I thought German cities had a sound curfew like most Central EU cities. I’d stay again, now that I know to request a room at the back.
