We didn’t stay, and although they said they’d refund me, they haven’t yet. The manager’s wife said, “The cleaner hasn’t been in.” That says enough. The first room had dirty smears on the doors and light switches, sticky marks on the toilet cistern and lid, and a dirty vanity. The bunk beds were covered in years of black grime, especially around the ladders. They offered another room. It was a bit better, and the sheets were clean, but there were still smears on the doors, switches, and sofa. I didn’t check the mattresses. The carpet in the shared area was filthy, and there wasn’t any hand sanitiser. Even a budget hotel can be kept clean. With Corona, I think this place should be closed. DO NOT BOOK. It’s a serious health hazard.

We paid for a hotel bed, but one of us ended up sleeping on a stack of blankets on the floor. The bed meant for two was barely bigger than a single, so you had to spoon just to stay on it. We’d told them how many of us were coming and that we were friends. We’re fine sharing a proper double bed, but this wasn’t what we paid for. We raised the problem during the day, and they said they’d get an extra mattress. When we came back that night, nothing had changed. Reception said the mattress was in storage and they couldn’t get it. The next day it felt like moving a mountain to get the extra mattress they’d promised, and it only happened after an unpleasant conversation. The breakfast was very limited, with old bread, dirty coffee cups, and meat and cheese that looked untouched since the day before. It may be cheap, but I stayed here a few years ago and won’t be back.

The price was too high, and we won’t be coming back. At night it was so noisy that we couldn’t sleep. They didn’t have any bottles of mineral water to buy, even though the whole hotel had none available. The room was dirty and awful, with windows screwed shut and no ventilation. The toilet was filthy, with sludge, and the smell from it and the drain was disgusting. The little fridge was disgusting too. This doesn’t feel like a real hotel.

The rooms have had a little refurbishment and are spacious and practical. At a low price, I’d call it good value. Just don’t choose it for a romantic night.

The room was pleasant and had a fridge, and the free WiFi worked reliably. It’s a 10-minute walk from the train station. I’d stay here again.
