Hotel Weidenhof

The only real advantage is the location, about 10 minutes on foot from the train station. Hotels nearer the station at a similar price were apparently fully booked. The price here was clearly too high for what you get: a small room in bad condition, with holes in the walls and doors. The neighbors were jumping around on the floor all night. Definitely a place I’d avoid.

A good night’s sleep was easy here: it’s far enough from the noise, bustle, and heckling, while still central enough to get anywhere in minutes. The rooms and facilities are well maintained, and the prices are fair. It’s a cute little hotel that does more than you’d expect for its class, with great service and friendly staff. Felt like a home away from home.

I really loved the vibe and character here. It’s a beautiful old building, with a very clean room and kitchen, a calm atmosphere, friendly staff, and a good price. The WiFi worked well too. Most apartments in Europe don’t have AC, so that was understandable, and I was glad they hadn’t added ugly AC units to an old building. I’d visit again and highly recommend it. Just know it’s not a luxury hotel.

We were upgraded right away to a corner room when we stayed for 3 nights in early April. It was large, with lots of windows, a recessed window area with a coffee table and chairs, a sofa, and plenty of storage. The bath had a great shower. Everyone at this family-run hotel was welcoming and friendly, especially the lady owner. It’s next to Little Tokyo, with loads of Asian restaurants to choose from, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and more. Far enough from the old town that it stays quiet, but it’s a 10-15 minute walk if you fancy some Currywurst. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again next time I’m in Dusseldorf.
