The room was cozy, with a nice bathroom and a small kitchen, handy if you want to save money instead of eating out every day. Breakfast is a full one for €8.50, or you can order from the menu.

Lovely place to stay, right in the city centre.

The room doesn’t seem suitable for a longer holiday. It might work as a cheap place to sleep for a night, but there’s no parking, and public parking costs extra. Street noise and cooking smells from the kitchen start before 6 a.m. The room is poorly maintained too: the shower head can’t be adjusted, and the drains take patience. The old wardrobe has only a clothes rail, with no shelf for pressed clothes.

We’ll definitely come back, perhaps for cake next time. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty to choose from, including good rolls and bread. The staff were very friendly, took our order quickly, and the coffee came right away. The wait for breakfast was perfectly reasonable. I do think coffee should come with breakfast instead of being ordered and charged separately.

The central location is the best part. We seem to have been given an apartment that hadn’t been renovated: one side of the curtain was hanging down, the coffee machine needed a thorough clean before I could use it, and both the kitchenette faucet and shower were filthy. We can’t recommend Cafe Heldt.
