Hostel & Pension Alte Brauerei

🚩 DO NOT PAY UPFRONT, and don't count on your reservation being honored. 🚩 We were left stranded outside at about 8 PM, extremely upset and unable to check in. I had received a confirmation email with a reservation code the day before, but they said they couldn't find the reservation and had never heard of Agoda. They expected us to deal with it and find somewhere else to stay, without offering to help arrange alternative accommodation. My husband spent a long time on the phone with them while they kept trying to push the issue onto Agoda. But the email came from them, so it seemed clear they'd made a mistake, possibly by selling my room by accident. The man on the phone said they had two partner hotels across the street and told us to try our luck there, at whatever price those hotels charged. They didn't call to secure a room at the rate they'd promised us. This felt dishonest, and I think the place should be blacklisted. Update, 10 Aug 2023, around 9 PM: I'm now in a room at their supposed partner hotel. They told us they're in no way partnered with the Alte Brauerei and only share a car park. So this wasn't just unprofessional. It seems they lied. That would explain why the man on the phone didn't offer to call and arrange alternative accommodation: he couldn't, because there was no partnership.

I lost my expensive headphones here months ago and still haven't heard anything about their status. They haven't returned my calls or emails.

Really good customer service. Keep it up. 😊👍🏽

So great!!!
