Apartment am Steinweg

The keys are collected from a key safe at the holiday apartment building. My landlord welcomed me warmly and was always glad to answer questions or help with requests. The apartment is spacious, clean, nicely furnished, and has everything you need, including a terrace facing greenery. It has an elevator and, in my view, is quite accessible for people with disabilities: there are no thresholds apart from the one at the terrace, and the shower is walk-in. Getting around on foot is easy. Emden's old town, with its supermarkets, town hall, inner harbor, Dat Otto-Huus, restaurants, and cultural sights, is walkable. The main station is under a 15-minute walk away, mostly along the Emden city moat, a lovely stretch surrounded by nature. There's also a bakery right next door with a good selection and places to sit inside. You can catch a ferry to Borkum from the outer harbor. Norddeich is reachable by a half-hour ride on the RE 1 regional express train, and has a ferry terminal for Norderney. The seal sanctuary in Norddeich, including its two locations, is well worth seeing.
