Everything is self-service. Parking at the entrance costs an extra 3 eur, and the shower is 5 eur for about 5 minutes of hot water. I was asked to delete my objective comment, so I changed my rating from 4 to 3 because of that rude gesture.

It’s way out in the middle of nowhere, but near the ferry terminal, which was exactly what I wanted. The room was spotless. It’s very small, so not a good choice if you have lots of luggage. In winter, when temperatures are below zero, cold comes up from below, so I’d only recommend it with reservations. Very suitable for truckers.

From a driver’s point of view, the parking is great, the restrooms are clean and free, and you can pay with a fuel card. Those are real pluses. But the shower is 5 euros for 8 minutes, and the water was ice cold, with no hot water at all. This is pure fraud.

The only thing I’d add is somewhere to sit. There aren’t any seats anywhere, and a basic table with benches like at highway parking lots would be enough. Otherwise, I’m very satisfied with the condition of this container hotel, which I found by chance. It has four single rooms with a shower, toilet, table, bed, Wi-Fi, and USB-C charging ports. I measured the Wi-Fi at about 80-90 Mbps symmetrical, including IPv6. Check-in and opening the door by phone worked well, the air conditioning was perfect, the soundproofing was completely fine, and the room was spotless. There’s a gas station next door with a bistro and small shop. The location by the entrance to the truck parking lot takes some getting used to, but it’s perfect for an overnight stay. I was on foot and walked from the city center with my rolling suitcase through quiet, leafy side streets in about 45 minutes. From here it’s under 10 minutes along the street on a dedicated pedestrian and bike path to the Borkum ferry dock.
