Bildungszentrum Erkner

A peaceful, lovely place, with neat rooms and excellent service. Breakfast has everything you could want. It deserves the praise.

The location is convenient, with a big car park and EV charging. Tennis courts, restaurants, supermarkets, and the lake are all within walking distance, and the rooms are well insulated against noise. Still, it feels much too expensive compared with other hotels. The room itself was small, with old furniture, and not very comfortable. There was no coffee or ironing setup, the TV was only 20 inches, and the room phone couldn’t reach reception. The free Wi-Fi was the one bright spot, with a speed test of 50 MB. The staff also left a bad impression. I was alone at breakfast and went into the wrong Covid lane. An employee shouted at me and made me go back and enter through the correct lane. It was just the two of us there, so I really don’t see what difference it made.

The staff were kind and helpful, and parking was free. There’s a Kaufland supermarket near the Bildungszentrum, with a cinema beside it. Breakfast was great, with lots to choose from. Dinner was a letdown for 11€, since there wasn’t much choice, and the potato salad tasted like it came from a supermarket. The rooms are small but good enough. The swimming pool is awesome and nicely warm, while the sauna and sanarium don’t open until 5pm.

The breakfast was good quality, and the staff were really nice and helpful. There’s also a viewing terrace in the tower section of the building.
