I paid to sleep, but the staff told me that being woken up was not their problem, and the manager point blank refused to speak with me. They offered no refund, and told me to leave the hotel because I was unfriendly, though I wasn’t rude. Avoid this place if you want a good night’s sleep. The staff were rearranging the whole hotel for incoming guests, which kept me awake. When I complained, they said I should be up because it was 9am. I asked them not to keep slamming doors, and they replied that it was so “disabled children don’t burn to death,” which I found bemusing and extreme. They wouldn’t move me to another part of the hotel or do the work more quietly or later.

It’s quiet here, though not particularly close to anything. The hotel and basic rooms were clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has limited opening hours, so we couldn’t eat there.

The second star is for the promise of a good breakfast. Right now it’s 4am, and I’ve been woken by drops hitting the floor. The air conditioner is leaking, not the shower, and I just stepped into a puddle on the bedroom floor. On top of that, the internet is ridiculously slow. I still have two nights left, and this already feels like a nightmare. Unacceptable for a four-star hotel.

There’s free parking, and the city center is five minutes away. The room was too bright because light from outside projectors shone through the windows, and the curtains were too small to cover them. The price felt too high, hygiene could be better, and the staff could be friendlier.

They pay attention to the small details, which really impressed me. For what I paid, this is probably the best hotel I’ve stayed in.
