Restaurant Hotel Am Kreuz

A pleasant atmosphere, generous portions, friendly staff, and excellent food. I'd recommend this restaurant.

I had a really enjoyable meal at the Petul. The lamb steak was lovely, and I enjoyed its sauce even though I couldn't identify what was in it (I don't eat lamb often). Service was good, and the local beer was delicious on draft. I'd eat there again if I'm staying at this hotel.

On my latest visit to am Kreuz restaurant in Essen, on 01/11/2023, I started with the pumpkin soup, which tasted great, then had liver and fried potatoes with bacon pieces, plus long strands of onion and a very nice side salad served separately. It was excellent again. I couldn't manage dessert, there was no room! The atmosphere is relaxing, and the staff, all in white shirts and black trousers, looked very cool. They're brilliant and nothing seems too much trouble. I'll go back when I'm in Essen. Definitely worth a visit for a meal, or even just a drink and a look around. A++ It's a brilliant place to unwind and eat well. The food is first class, and both the staff and the atmosphere are great. A+++.

The meals are delicious, and the place has a really friendly feel. There's a large, lovely garden terrace outside, and the tidy venue suits big parties and weddings too. At the end of a nice meal, Hous offer Croatian šljivovica as a digestif. Zivjeli!
