The outdoor area was messy, and the parking spaces we were promised weren’t there. We had to leave the car on the street, partly on the sidewalk. Inside, the sofa bed for our son hadn’t been set up. There was only a cushion and duvet on the seat, with no sheet at all. The place has clearly seen better days. Sticky dust was on the bed, and when we opened the windows, hair and thick dust bunnies fell from underneath. The living room and bedroom closets smelled musty, so we couldn’t use them for our clothes. The coffee makers and kettle were contaminated and badly needed replacing. The extractor hood looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned since installation, and it didn’t look like its filter had ever been changed. The oven was covered in sticky grime. When we opened it, the stench was almost unbearable and filled the whole room in seconds. The kitchen floor stuck to our feet with every step, and all the appliances, even the small coffee box and its money box, had a sticky film of grime on them. We were incredibly disappointed and felt misled by all the positive reviews. It seemed like friends had helped with those. We’re grateful to Booking.com, where we booked, for helping us cancel, and for their wonderful support. 🌸 Update after Mr. Klasen's reply: I think the pictures speak for themselves. As you can see from my other reviews, I always try to rate fairly and honestly. It’s a shame the criticism wasn’t accepted and no changes were made. Maybe you’ve already fixed things and are just lashing out a bit more. I hope so. We’re glad you do. It was clean and comfortable, and even our two dogs were no problem at all. The landlords were friendly, and the apartment was well equipped. It’s in a rural location in a nice little village, not far from Cochem.

We had everything we needed in this clean holiday apartment in Faid, near Cochem and the Moselle River. There’s room for up to four overnight guests, and nothing was missing for us. If I had to find something to nitpick, there weren’t towel racks in the bathroom or much storage space.

The rooms are spacious, and the holiday home has all the amenities you need. It’s a fantastic base for visiting the different towns and attractions around the area.
