The hosts were welcoming and very nice, and the rooms were clean. The amenities were the weak point: the pool water was too cold, the slide and swing were really dirty, and the BBQ area was full of roaches. The stay was okay.

The Hochschwarzwald card was a real help, and the place was clean throughout, including the rooms, toilet, and fully equipped kitchen. The host was very responsive and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay, though it's a short walk from the bus stop.

Be careful with your money here. We had booked and paid in advance through hotels.com, but when we arrived at 6 pm, the owner at reception said we had to pay her 500 euro in cash because she hadn't received the money from hotels. We paid and asked for a receipt. She said she'd bring it to our room later, but never did. The next morning reception was closed, and it stayed that way for the following three days. The lady had disappeared and wouldn't answer her mobile, email, or WhatsApp. We told hotels what had happened, and they tried to reach her too, without a response. Stay away if you care about your money.
