One of the best places to stay in the Black Forest. I've been back many times and plan to return again.

A wonderful place with really authentic food. My wife and I loved it!

We only came for a meal, so I can't speak to the rooms. The owner greeted us warmly, and the interior was kitschy but still cozy. The inn's description mentioned schnitzel and fried potatoes as specialties, so our group of six ordered them. Sadly, the meal was a letdown. The little side salad cost an extra €5, the schnitzel portion was meager and carelessly plated with two fried eggs on top, and the fried potatoes came on a serving tray that three of us had to share. The Wiener Schnitzel came separately with fries on the side. There was also roast pork with a gravy we couldn't identify and Spätzle. The Spätzle didn't seem homemade and didn't taste good. Our schnitzels were nearly identical in shape, with soggy, pale brown breading that didn't seem pan-fried, and some were over-peppered. The fried potatoes were good, but the eggs were too salty and the fries too soggy and pale. Three of us paid over €70, and the food didn't feel worth that price. It's a shame, because the building and location were nice, and the owner was almost too friendly, but none of that made up for the meal.
