Pension Haus Gisela

We had a great time in this spacious, clean, well-equipped apartment, and the bed was comfortable too. One thing to know: although we booked through Booking.com expecting a ground-floor apartment, ours was upstairs on the first floor, reached by an outside metal staircase. We had a large dog with us, so the ground floor had sounded like a plus. Thankfully the steps had rubber on them and there was a large mat, otherwise getting in would have been impossible. The lighting was very functional, but the bright white light didn’t feel very cozy on dark days.

The surrounding area is great for hiking, and the host family were very friendly. A real highlight was the schnapps tasting next door at K + S Lorenz. Be sure to ask the hosts about it! We stayed in the larger apartment, four people with our two dogs, and all six of us felt at home right away. It’s furnished with care and very well equipped. The kitchen in particular had everything we could need. We’ll definitely be back and are already looking forward to the next stay.

We felt comfortable straight away in this bright, modern apartment. It’s thoughtfully set up for both people and dogs, and the kitchen is fully equipped, so nothing was missing. Michaela and Patric were wonderful hosts. Many thanks to them, we’ll be back!

The Black Forest Plus Card was a real bonus, with free entry to pools and museums, wine tastings, public transport, and more. We also loved the view of the Black Forest from the apartment. Michaela and Patric made us feel personally welcome; this is a family-run holiday place, not an impersonal hotel, and you can tell they put their hearts into it. The apartment had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and board games. It’s out in the middle of nowhere, so there’s hardly any traffic and the air is fresh, but don’t expect a bakery around the corner. We wholeheartedly recommend Pension Gisela!
