Angel Hotel

I booked online 11 months before my visit and paid by card, at what seemed like a good price for a trade fair. When I got to the hotel, they refused to honor the booking. They said the website price was wrong and they’d refund me, but I could only stay if I paid almost 400% more. I asked why they had published the wrong price and why they hadn’t contacted me in almost a whole year to explain the problem, instead of waiting until I arrived. They had no answer beyond repeating “computer error,” saying the price was impossible for a trade fair period, and insisting I should have known it was a mistake. Disgusting and dishonourable, a very sad way to run a business. I could only see the reception area, and even that made the hotel look really low class. Avoid this place unless you want to risk arriving with all your luggage for a 7 day stay, then searching for somewhere else after a 40 minute argument at reception. Horrible experience.

The WiFi was awful, weak and disconnecting every 5-8 minutes, so I had to reconnect constantly. The location also felt very unsafe, with lots of people hanging around outside, smoking and taking other substances. The front staff member was extremely rude, verbally abusive, dismissive, and aggressive. Housekeeping pressured me to check out over an hour early, all because I asked about the awful smells in the hotel room.

Make sure you book online before going. Booking.com showed 34€, but when I got there he tried to scam me and said the room was 70€. I told him it was 34 online, and he said it could be 50 for me, then went down to 40. 😂 I said no and booked online instead, and it was 34€. Be careful, they try to scam you. And good luck trying to sleep at night, it’s too loud out there.

A few months ago, I arrived in Frankfurt late at night and needed somewhere to sleep. I saw Angel Hotel had free rooms at good prices, so I called before booking to check availability. Once they confirmed, I booked straight away. I got to reception around 12am to check in. The guy asked how much I’d paid, 50 euros, and didn’t seem happy with the answer. He immediately said they had no room for me and I should find somewhere else, at midnight. When I pointed out I’d already paid, he said I’d get a refund later. I’m writing this three months later and still haven’t received it, and I doubt I ever will. Steer clear. Only book here if you want to be scammed.
