The Florentin by Althoff Collection

We had a small team meeting at The Florentin Frankfurt and felt at home as soon as we arrived. The design is beautiful, with an elegant but welcoming feel, and all the spaces seemed thoughtfully arranged and calm, good for working as well as unwinding. Breakfast was a highlight for its food and service. Ersil from the breakfast team deserves a special mention. They did a great job and remembered all our coffee and tea orders the next day, which made the stay feel personal. Thank you!

After a disappointing first morning, breakfast was a treat. The buffet had been meagre, the English breakfast was badly interpreted, and we waited far too long for a cappuccino. Victoria and many of the other staff deserve real praise, though. They’re lovely, friendly and very professional. This morning, the coffee and eggs Benedict were excellent. I also ate at the Garden Restaurant and had delicious Bouillabaisse, followed by the best 200g steak I’ve had in Germany, maybe ever. I’ll be dreaming about that steak until I return. Edwin served us, friendly and professional, and part of a terrific team. Chapeau, Salut. I recommended the hotel to a friend visiting Frankfurt for the first time, but the cigar lounge rules were frustrating. We couldn’t have a cigar at midday because it only opens at 5pm. For a hotel aspiring to this class, guest comfort and flexibility should matter. In bad German weather, the hotel is our refuge and home, so please reconsider that rule. My criticisms stand, but the compliments are well deserved and were a refreshing surprise after that first morning.

One of my favourite hotels in Germany. It feels brand new, and everything was just right, from the food and service to the amenities. The gym and spa were amazing. 10/10.

The Florentin’s reopening is off to a strong start, thanks in large part to its staff. From the moment I arrived, they were warm, attentive and professional, with an ease that made the luxury feel natural. Dune was a real highlight. The dishes were thoughtful and generous, refined and full of flavour, with great ingredients and execution. The wine list was well chosen, and service flowed smoothly. The spa is impressive, and the hotel has a calm, elegant feel throughout. The Florentin is quickly becoming Frankfurt’s most compelling hospitality destination. Highly recommended, I’ll be back soon.
