Bold Hotel Frankfurt Messe

The staff are nice and the rooms are fine, but the kitchen has no microwave. The Wi-Fi is HORRIBLE: pages take forever to load and the connection drops a lot. If you're used to faster internet, or come from somewhere other than Germany, especially the U.S. or Asia, it could be a shock. Depending on which room you get, mobile data isn't a practical backup either because the signal is so poor.

We came for the exhibition and feel like they cheated us, as happens every time. The hotel is very basic, old and bad overall. It was completely closed, with no reception at all, and there wasn't even an elevator to our room.

I stayed at Bold Hotel for three days and was very comfortable there. It's a simple, no-frills place, but clean and comfortable in every way. The staff are very friendly, and coffee is available without limit from morning to evening. There is no elevator, but the kind receptionist gave me a ground-floor room, so I didn't miss having one. The price wasn't expensive and matched what was offered. I'd definitely return.

Check-in was fast, but I didn't feel safe. While I was moving my luggage, a young girl selling drugs kept hounding me. I avoided her that evening, but the next day she tried to intercept me on my way to a grocery store. Two police women happened to be nearby and saved me. The rooms are very small and basic. There were constant disturbances, including the bed shaking, which I believe was caused by the criminals downstairs. They were there day and night. The area was meant to be quiet, but drug dealers drove past in loud jalopies, and there was construction inside the building and in the neighborhood. I had to move to another building because of the Wi-Fi. I have it now, but it's painful to use. I'm disappointed in Germany! The first room I had in the other building had dirty floors. The shower is good, and the staff respond, but housekeeping doesn't speak English.
