The room temperature stayed stable, and the hot and cold water came instantly. Beyond those points, I hope I never have to stay there again. The pipes in the walls made constant noise that drove me completely insane, and the bed was uncomfortable. WiFi wouldn't stay connected for more than two minutes, and even when it did connect, it was extremely slow. The walls are thin enough that you can hear people talking in the next room. The place is about 2 km from the main square. If there's a room-related problem, getting it resolved usually takes more than 24 hours. There isn't an English-speaking receptionist, and in fact there isn't a reception at all.

It's an old building with limited facilities, and there's no lift.

8/10
The apartments and building were very clean, and the staff were consistently friendly and happy to help with small extra requests. The location is ideal for walking to Frankfurt's city center, including the Zeil shopping street and Römerberg square, and it's also just one subway stop away. Excellent accommodation, highly recommended.

Not exactly chic or modern, but it is clean and relatively inexpensive.
