Hotel Am Zoo

It was alright. The room was small, though clean compared with other hotels in the area.

Antonio and Daniel at reception were great, helpful and friendly. They let me leave my things there after I checked out, and their attitude showed that they care about their work and the guests. Aryan, though, came across as if I was bothering him, which I didn't like. My two nights ended up being in different rooms because I hadn't realized I needed a second night and checked out after the first. The first room was perfectly fine, a five-star room for me. The second was closer to one or two stars, with a particularly uncomfortable mattress and other issues too. It was a good experience overall, but it really depends on which room you get and who you speak to.

The hotel is very close to the zoo, public transport, restaurants, kiosks, and markets. Still, I wouldn't choose it first again. I spent seven nights there on a business trip with six colleagues, and although we'd booked the same rooms, we all described different room quality. There are two buildings, and some rooms have a poor environment, including mine. Some colleagues had double beds, while mine was only about three-quarters of a bed 😀. Others reported no hot water or a heater that didn't work, and one room had a lot of wind coming in around the window. If you've paid for parking in advance, make sure reception knows, or you may have trouble finding a free space when you return at night. Some guests park badly across the lines.

I arrived planning to stay here in 2024, but the service was poor and the rooms left me underwhelmed. I'm returning to Frankfurt this May and won't book here.
