Grand Hotel Dream Frankfurt City

The owner’s behavior is what made this stay a one-star experience. At check-in he was rude to me and my family from the start, though I put up with it because other hotels were booked. A woman at reception was okay and not as rude. On our last day, I asked to keep one of the two rooms we were renting until 6 pm because of the lack of hot water and other room issues. We agreed, but he told me to clear one room’s belongings and leave the other empty by noon. I went shopping and came back around 2 pm. I’m a foreigner from Ethiopia on a family trip, and I offered to pay half a night, 50 euros out of the agreed 100 per night, for the two-hour delay. I know I was late and that was my fault, but he refused and demanded the full amount, even though I was leaving for my country that night. He yelled at me and my father, used racial slurs, and nearly hit me while I tried to find a solution. Neighbors came and broke up the fight he was causing. Thank God some Ethiopians who spoke German arrived and calmed things down. I ended up paying 50 euros, and we ran out of the place for good. It made me hate the country and traveling for a while, and I’ll never stay there again. The hotel itself was horrible for a 3-star, let alone a 4-star. The room was compact and old, with dirt and mold on parts of the carpet and an old, slightly dirty bathroom. There was no hot water during my three-day stay, and loud construction went on most of the day. Breakfast was mediocre, and there was no air conditioning, just a fan. The place was dirty, old, smelly, and disgusting, and wasn’t worth any money. My dignity and wellbeing were at stake even at the cheap price.
