Hotel Isabella

The service was awful for a room that wasn't even cheap. The towels were old, and in the hot summer there was no fan or air conditioning. I had booked breakfast too, but it wasn't provided and I got no refund or compensation. At the desk there was nobody around, and whenever I did find someone, they were on the phone and barely paid attention. Worse, someone tried to open my room door three times in the middle of the night, even after I shouted that it was occupied. It was a terrifying experience.

My reservation was cancelled at 4:45 pm the day before check-in, after I had booked through booking dot com two months ahead and the facility manager had confirmed it and received payment. They said it was due to overbooking, and it caused me a lot of trouble. Once I got to Frankfurt, I learned there was a business event in town and hotel prices had gone up for a few days. I can only guess the hotel got a better offer and cancelled mine. If it had been an honest mistake, they would have told me much earlier. I think they were greedy and irresponsible.

We booked this place while on the way home, and it turned out to be a gem. The bed was so comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the staff were really friendly. It was also very quiet, in an amazing location, and there's a kids play area. The breakfast was nice too. I've never given a hotel stay five stars before, but I'll stay here whenever we travel to Frankfurt.

I can't say much about the hotel itself. Before booking, I'd gone to another hotel that was a mess, so I made an online reservation through booking at hotel isabella at a reasonable price. When we arrived, reception called the boss to ask what to do with us. The owner wanted cash because the amount was higher than the booking price. I ended up waiting two hours to find another hotel. I wouldn't recommend hotel isabella to anyone. Gig a word.
