We were given a three-night stay over Christmas as a gift. We paid 12€ in person for the city tax, which hadn’t been paid on the website. We enjoyed the stay, especially since it cost us less as a gift, but at the usual price I’m not sure I’d recommend it. The location is useful, and if you just need somewhere to recharge overnight, you may be happy here. The room looked beautiful, but there were lots of problems. Our bed frame and mattress kept sliding apart when we lay close together. The TV was a couple of metres to the side of the bed, and its wall mount wouldn’t turn far enough to make watching comfortable. The smart TV wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi or let us sign in to Netflix, YouTube, or Prime Video, so we only had regional cable, entirely in German. Reception struggled to understand our question in English and then in German, even though my wife is a native speaker. They called a Hausmeister, who wasn’t fluent in either language, and sent him to our room without explaining the issue or asking us first. After we explained it several times, he said there was no Wi-Fi. Nothing was fixed, and reception could have told us that from the start. Our phone didn’t seem to work, so any other issues meant going to the desk in person. I have asthma and dust allergies, and the room was so dusty that I slept with the window open in temperatures of 0 to -3 degrees just to breathe comfortably. Within an hour of arriving, we found rubbish, including a receipt dated a week before check-in. The bathroom bin had no liner, there was an open pack of pimple patches above the toilet, and hair covered parts of the bathroom floor and shower floor. My wife also spotted a leak in the shower and what looked like dirt marks on the shower base that wouldn’t come off even with high water pressure. The room was very static, too. I got shocked several times taking off my jacket, and shocked someone else once. The hair dryer was weak and couldn’t be used away from the sink, so bring your own if you need one. The only toiletries were 2-in-1 shampoo and shower gel, which dried out our hair. We should have brought more toiletries, but had expected better quality. One funny thing: we’re both under 1,70m (5'5), and our feet almost dangled from the surprisingly high toilet. Breakfast tasted good, but the selection was small and some items were already dry an hour after it opened. We were asked several times whether we’d actually booked it. We didn’t take that as an insult, but it got annoying to be doubted throughout the stay. For 15-18€ per person, I’d skip the early start and eat somewhere outside instead. Nobody told us about housekeeping at check-in, so we assumed there’d be none over Christmas. We didn’t mind that.

The Nepali thali we had for dinner was the highlight, absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and breakfast was good too. It’s easy to get here by train, just one stop from Frankfurt Central Station. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

I had a good time here. The room was clean and nice, the bathroom was really clean, and the staff were friendly. It was quiet, too. The metro station is right across the street, which was so convenient, and there are restaurants nearby. They even had tasty candies at the front desk. I enjoyed my stay.

The restaurant at Hotel Soaltee Westend has a warm, authentic feel, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I had a great meal there: the traditional Nepali thali was full of authentic flavors, and the momo (dumplings) were delicious. Definitely worth trying!

The location is great, and I’d stay here again. Staff were helpful, breakfast was tasty if a little expensive, and the room was clean and modern. It was quite warm inside. My room faced the train line, but that bothered me less than a room facing a road would have.
