We booked by email and phone, and the owners were friendly and accommodating. We came with two dogs, and they seemed just as welcome as we were. The garden is fully escape-proof, with a great view, room for a barbecue, and space for the dogs to run free. There’s a natural lake opposite the house. The owner said the city created it as a swimming pond. It has a lot of algae, but it looks cute and can be used. There are good places to hike nearby, as well as a playground for children. The apartment is a little dated, but that gives it some charm. It’s well maintained and mostly clean. My only personal issue was a few cobwebs on the lovely wooden ceiling, which we managed to remove with a vacuum cleaner. It’s the countryside, so a few bugs are normal, especially when the windows and doors are left open. I’m just not good with eight-legged creatures. A couple of ladybugs landing on the windowsill or window now and then were a big hit with the kids. The kitchen is mostly well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms were larger than we expected and well equipped too. The walls are a bit thin, though you only notice when it’s really quiet. We had a delightful, fun visit. The owner even offered to step in as the Easter Bunny. It was so welcoming, and we’d gladly return.

We didn’t feel welcome, and there was none of the Bavarian warmth or friendliness we’d expected. The only time we had contact with the landlord was when we paid. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired, and the washing machine listed in the description wasn’t available, even after we asked. Our granddaughter vomited in the car. We won’t be coming back.

We had everything we needed. The upper apartments work really well for a larger family, as they did for our group of 11. They connect through a hallway, but the apartments and rooms are separate, so each couple or family still has private space. Everything was very clean, and some parts had recently been renovated. The furnishings are cozy and charming, and the view is amazing. The kitchen is especially well equipped for a longer stay, with a coffee maker, toaster, kettle, egg cooker, sieve, grater, corkscrew, and more. There are good shopping options nearby, with Rewe and Aldi about a five-minute drive away. The host was very friendly, and the quiet location makes a good starting point for hikes. Bayerisch Eisenstein is around a 20-minute drive away, with tobogganing and skiing, and sleds available to rent. It’s best to get there early because parking is limited, especially when the weather is good.

We felt very comfortable cooking for ourselves and would gladly come back. The guesthouse has a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. Household appliances are provided free of charge and ready to use, which helps keep things clean. The train and bus stop is an easy walk, about 15 minutes away, and you can reach nearby attractions from there. Having a car is more convenient, of course. Sincerely, Bensch
