We used Ibis Hotel Frechen for an overnight stop after our summer holiday on the 26th of august. The day after, my partner and I had dozens of bites, 40 in total, that looked like they might be bedbugs. We sent the hotel photos and told them, but got no help or compensation. They said a company had inspected the room, yet couldn't give us the inspection report. After that there was no proper follow-up, just the claim that there were no bedbugs. I understand they may not want to close or treat a hotel over this because it could hurt business and scare customers away. We can't recommend the place, and we plan to pursue an official complaint. A short email doesn't make this right. Don't claim you're acting in your customers' best interests. Your first response was literally, "I'm sure this is no bedbugs, I think it's mosquito bites". There weren't any mosquitos in the room at all. That says plenty about you, and multiple other clients may already have had the same problem. Pictures don't lie. If you book here and get room 324, make sure you get your money back.

We didn’t stay overnight, but came away very happy with breakfast. It was fresh and really good, especially the waffels, and the staff were so helpful and kind. Thanks so much, Hotel Ibis Köln Frechen!

Our stay at Ibis Frechen was a complete disaster. At check-in, the air-conditioning in our room wasn't working. The staff said there was no family room available and offered two single rooms instead. We were a family, but had no other option, so we took them. One bathroom was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. A few hours later, the air-conditioning in that room started leaking water. Management again said there was no other room and we would have to manage. By the next morning, the air-conditioning in the other room was leaking too. Thank God we only had to stay one day before leaving that miserable place.

The room and breakfast were decent for such a low price, and the staff were really friendly. Still, there was hair left all over from previous guests. The shower also had mold and clearly visible stains in several spots.

We arrived Friday afternoon and found our room really smelly, clearly because someone had smoked in it. Reception changed our room straight away and sorted it out. Well done.
