Gasthaus Pension Lv Wen

The beds felt damp.

We stayed here for one night while passing through and arrived late, around 21:30. The key was hanging at the entrance, which seems to be the usual setup, so don’t be surprised. Our room had a small sitting area and a sofa. It was a little old-fashioned, but clean and everything worked, which was fine for one night. There was no kitchenette. The breakfast was generous, with eggs, vegetables, cheese, cold cuts, bread, orange juice, and coffee. A quiet neighborhood and a small parking area right outside made the stop convenient. Good value for a peaceful overnight stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s private parking on site. The hotel is in a quiet residential area, with two small places to eat and drink nearby. We only saw them and didn’t try them. Breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m. and isn’t buffet style. The manager brings whatever you’d like, such as bread, jam, ham, cheese, or hard-boiled eggs. Freiburg is about 40 minutes away by bus and tram.

We couldn’t make the trip because of a bereavement. We understood that the prepaid booking couldn’t be cancelled, but there was no goodwill offer, such as a partial refund or a voucher for another time.
