The food was really good, and otherwise we had a great weekend. Service could've been better, though. They weren't sure what the Wi-Fi code was and said the connection was very bad anyway. The walls between rooms are thin.

We only stopped for drinks, and the place had a laid-back feel with fresh air and a view of the canal. Service was quick and efficient. Two white wine spritzers for €7.20 felt reasonably priced.

The half board included in our room price was a nice bonus. Dinner was delicious, especially the fried fish with homemade potato salad, and the breakfast buffet had a great selection, with something for everyone. The staff were friendly and efficient. I was in room 105, though, and it really needs attention. The skirting boards, the space behind the TV cabinet, and the wicker chairs all showed how much improvement is needed, and the room felt quite worn and not very clean. I'd book again if possible, but I'd ask for a different room.

The service was so bad it came across as nearly rude, and we felt the guests were a nuisance. At noon, our group of 20 wanted a glass of wine on the sunny terrace, but the bar was shut until 2 pm. Earlier, we'd asked for a light lunch because we had a big dinner planned. What arrived looked like breakfast buffet leftovers piled onto a plate, and there wasn't any cutlery. It brought back memories of a shooting camp in Borris when I was a soldier 50 years ago. The breakfast buffet was tragic, the food was terrible, and the rooms felt worn and dull. Easily the worst hotel we've stayed at in Germany. At times it felt like a hidden camera show or an episode of Fawlty Towers. Absolutely would not recommend.
