Pension Marktblick

The place is very central, and you can easily walk to everything. Our room was clean and practical, but the furniture could use a refresh. The bathroom could too, even something as small as a new toilet seat. Painting the whole ceiling would make it look better as well. The rooms are very thin walled, and we could hear a neighbor snoring. The chairs in the breakfast room have seen better days too. A small makeover would make all the difference.

I really enjoyed my long weekend here. My single room was clean and looked out over the canals, the hostess was very nice, and breakfast had a wide selection. I'd stay again if I can.

Breakfast was included in the price and perfectly okay. There’s a garage for bikes just around the corner, which was handy. The guesthouse is small and right in central Friedrichstadt, and our basic room was clean, though worn in places, especially the bed. We had to climb a few stairs to reach it. The big roof terrace had a beach chair and other seating, but didn’t feel very inviting. There was no minibar or anywhere else to keep things cold, so a shared fridge in the hall would have helped. We also missed having a pen and a bottle opener. The part we liked least was the bakery’s public restroom in the guesthouse hallway. In my view, too many people can get into the building, especially with no staff on site.

Right beside the market square, and a nice place to stay. René, nice rooms, and a lovely breakfast.
