Landhaus Pension Christian

We spent five days at Landhaus & Pension Christian in the summer of 2010, with my wife, two friends, and me. The hosts were wonderful people. My wife and I hope to return when we come to Germany from the States again, and I'd recommend staying here.

A nice starting point for our vacation. The room was good, and the owner was nice.

We had a lot of little things to gripe about for the price, and as a family of five this was our most expensive rental so far, but definitely not our best. The biggest letdown was the bedroom with no window, tucked in the middle of the König Ludwig apartment. Booking through Booking.com also cost €200 more than booking on the website, which made it even more frustrating. There were positives: a large terrace, washing machine, roomy kitchen work area, a second bathroom or toilet, friendly landlords, and bike storage in the (junk) garage. Other drawbacks included another bedroom facing the street, where traffic noise was really annoying, and thresholds that were easy to trip on throughout the apartment. The smoking area was right by the entrance, and the windows had no fly screens. Some smaller problems had already been reported to the landlord: a wobbly bar stool, smelly dishwasher, no kitchen towel or rag, a wall clock that didn't work, watered-down liquid soap, and no whisk. We only noticed some of those while cooking. This was the five-sleeping-space König Ludwig apartment on the first floor. Our expectations weren't quite met.

The hosts were really friendly, and everything was fine for a one-night stay. It's away from the busy center, though a walk from the city center or train station takes about 20 minutes. The beautiful theater is roughly a 35-minute walk away. My street-facing single room was spacious, with its own bathroom and shower. There was also a sink and refrigerator in the room. Being right by the road meant some occasional traffic noise.
