On the second night, the staff moved us to a cooler room on a lower floor and brought us a fan. By our third night the AC was working again, so the stay wasn’t as unpleasant as that first night. I appreciate that the staff eventually took our concerns seriously. We’d booked an air-conditioned room because we were traveling with a baby. It was 22°C outside but 27°C in the room, and the AC wouldn’t work. The room was fairly clean and organized when we arrived, but it was much too hot for a mild day. Opening the window only brought in lots of bugs from the field and loud U-Bahn noise, and lowered the temperature just to 26°C. The hotel didn’t even have a fan at first. The receptionist said the AC wasn’t working because it was colder outside than inside. But another guest had working AC in their room, so that explanation made no sense.

The rooms were decent enough, but several things didn’t work, including some electrical outlets. The elevator was out, so thankfully reception put us on a lower floor. The AC in the room was also not working. When I asked, the receptionist said, “It’s a very old hotel, sir,” as if that explained it. What?! I wouldn’t come back, and I really can’t recommend this place unless it’s your last option. There are plenty of hotels nearby that I think are much better. Cheers!

The rooms were spotless, no complaints there, but I felt misled about the facilities for a weekend getaway. There’s no pool, sauna, or massage service as pictured. Breakfast was as boring as watching paint dry, with very few choices unless you like ham and cheese. There’s no lunch at all. For dinner, it was pizza, pizza, pizza. If you like pizza, that’s all they have. No fries, salads, or anything else.

The rooms were clean and breakfast was very good. I know the place is being renovated, but the bathroom lighting around the mirror is a problem. It may look nice for mood lighting, but it doesn’t let you see your face properly. The overhead light throws a shadow across it, and the mirror’s rim light is too soft to help. There don’t seem to be any adjustments. One other suggestion: put power outlets closer to the bed.

I stayed for a day to go to a Champions League match. The hotel is just one station from the ground, so it’s a great option for football fans, especially on match day. The place had a nice atmosphere at Christmas, and breakfast was decent.
