At night, the noise from other apartments was so bad that you could hear every door in the building. The blinds barely do anything, the toilet doesn’t flush properly, and the shower faucet is broken, with water pressure too low to reach head height. The whole hallway smells strongly of cigarette smoke, and the apartment does too. Everything is yellowed and dirty, from the sticky kitchen handles to the stained, grimy dishes and cutlery. This is definitely not a top-notch vacation rental. Any noise bothers the neighbors, and in my opinion, it’s not even close to Veltins Arena, which is 5 km away. Even the taxi driver laughed when we gave him the address.

The beds were small and hard, but the apartment was adequate for sleeping. It was clean overall, though a closer look showed a few things that weren’t quite up to standard. Parking was sometimes difficult to find, and the apartment is in a part of Gelsenkirchen where it’s probably better not to be out at night. We won’t book it again.

The towels were scarce, there was no toilet paper at all, and the escalation procedures didn’t work. Some areas could have been cleaner too, including the dishes, cutlery, and surfaces out of sight. It’s a slightly worn apartment with Ikea furnishings. That’s basically fine, except the official description makes it sound like you should expect luxury, and this isn’t a top-notch vacation apartment.

For what it costs, this place isn't worth recommending. There was no TV, the sound system didn't work and seemed to be there just for show, and the cleanliness was disappointing. Parking wasn't available either.

Ants were crossing the kitchen table and coming out from under the loose baseboards. When it was raised, we were told it was no big deal and that the whole house was like that. I wouldn't recommend it.
