Hotel Villa Toscana

After a long drive we were hungry and looking forward to dinner. The waiters spoke Italian, so the food seemed like it might be authentic Italian. We ordered four different pizzas and were extremely disappointed. They were the worst pizzas we've ever had, like frozen ones, or even worse.

The staff were pleasant, and the hotel was quiet and comfortable. Good location too. Recommended for everyone!

We'd booked and paid through Booking a couple of days before arriving at 21:45 on Sunday. There was no staff around, and nobody answered the phone number we had. It went to voicemail, which gave another number in German. None of us spoke German, so figuring it out was a nightmare. The owner, I guess, arrived after about 40 minutes with the keys and apologized. Our room was dirty, the heating unit didn't work, and there was no hot water for a shower. Luckily we had our own blankets and didn't freeze. For 70€ this is unacceptable. I'd give zero stars if I could.

The mattress springs were sticking out hard. I wonder if the owner has ever tried sleeping on a bed like that. The room was oddly angled and uncomfortable, and the fridge was under the table in the small room, so you had to be very flexible to switch it on. The "villa" is right by the road, with people coming and going and slamming doors loudly. Nobody seemed to respect the quiet at night. If you need good sleep before a long trip, don't stay here. Strongly not recommended, really not worth the money.
