The food was decent, but the service was lacklustre. One of our four starters came out 10 minutes after the rest, with no apology. Then the main courses arrived while we were still eating our starters, again with no apology.

Dinner was delicious, with really huge portions. The staff were super nice, and even with a full restaurant the food didn't take long. The mushroom cream sauce had run out, and there was a shortage of beer, but that can happen. There was a self-service fridge with drinks for a fee, and the beer, wine, and soft drinks were reasonably priced. I don't understand the criticism of the dinner in other reviews. The guesthouse worked fine for our short trip, and its central location makes it easy to recommend for a short holiday. We'd come back. Thanks for the kindness, and one small request: please renovate the bathroom in room 1 😁 We booked two double rooms. One looked immaculate and freshly renovated. The other wasn't so nice: the shower was tiny, there were holes in the tiles, and the whole room looked a bit shabby. It was clean, though. Maybe room 1 should cost less than room 3. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, except there was only one small towel per person, which wasn't enough. We asked and got extra towels quickly. Breakfast was small but good and filling. But we had to ask for more, since sausage, cheese, and jam were running low. The staff should check on things more often. The coffee was very good, but the machine confused guests who didn't know how to use it. I knew the same model and was able to help them, though that should really have been the service's job.

We hadn't planned to eat there. Quite a few restaurants on Rügen apparently close on Thursdays, so we ended up there by chance. The outdoor area was beautiful and very idyllic, and the service was fantastic and friendly. We only ate there, so I can't say anything about the rooms. The food was amazing: we had tarte flambée with smoked salmon, sweet potato fries, and fish and chips. The tarte flambée was homemade and absolutely fantastic. We took the photo after we'd finished eating, but I think that speaks for itself. Highly recommended!

The food was hot, tasty, and arrived quickly. The inside didn't quite match the impression you might get from the building's exterior. Given the setting and surroundings, it's acceptable, and the price for what you get is good. For us, though, it was a one-time visit. We didn't book a room there.

The service was truly very friendly. The food was another story. We eat out a lot and usually enjoy trying schnitzel at different restaurants. Sometimes it's good and sometimes not, but this was below even the not-so-good ones. We ordered schnitzel with Spätzle, but it was bland and overcooked, almost impossible to cut. The pork medallions with mushroom cream sauce were tender, but also a bit overcooked and tasteless. I chose a side salad instead of fries, and it came with no dressing or oil, not even salt or pepper. You can always add salt to the pork, I suppose. We'd thought about sending the food back, but we were really hungry since we hadn't eaten breakfast that day. Otherwise, it would have gone straight back to the kitchen and we'd have eaten somewhere else.
