Hotel Beckmann

The reception was nice, the service was excellent, and breakfast was good. But my room was very old and dated, with no ventilation apart from a window that wouldn’t open fully, so it got extremely hot. It was disappointing. My company had booked a simple room, and I asked to change it and pay extra, but the person at reception wasn’t very helpful with that request. Everyone was polite, just not especially helpful.

The breakfast views really are spectacular, and the hotel itself is comfortable, with lovely design, thoughtful clean rooms and bathrooms, very nice staff, and plenty of parking. We reserved the car charger for the night, which was very convenient. Our room faced the entrance, so we heard a lot of noise from guests coming and going. You may want to request a quieter room if that would bother you. Unfortunately, the restaurant, which looks great, was closed when we arrived. After a long day we didn’t want to drive somewhere for dinner, but the owner was very helpful and offered to help us order pizza or other food. The location was the only issue for me. I hadn’t realised how far it was from everything apart from the university. Otherwise, it’s perfectly placed.

The breakfast buffet was generous and excellent quality, and the staff were friendly and quick to respond to messages on booking.com. The modern hotel feels warm and is close enough to the motorway for easy access, while still being quiet. Great stay, highly recommend it.

The hotel and staff were very nice, but the location wasn’t within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, or anything else. There wasn’t anything for guests at the hotel either. They had a private party in the restaurant area, so it wasn’t available to us.
