Breakfast had plenty of options at this lovely, affordable hotel. It’s about 1 to 2 miles from the city centre.

We booked a family room for two adults and two children and got loads of space. It was actually two double rooms connected by a door, so we had two bathrooms and two big single beds, plus two of everything. Outstanding value for money. If you’re travelling as a family, go to Astoria in Göttingen!

The bathrooms were clean and nice, and breakfast was good. The rooms are old, though, and if yours faces the road, traffic may disturb you. It was warm when we stayed, so the room got stuffy and we had to leave the windows wide open. Vehicles made it really loud at night, but thankfully we were tired enough to sleep well. A decent stop if you’re driving through.
