Breakfast was in another building. There was enough to choose from, but some bowls weren't clean and the room felt very cold with only a sort of auxiliary heater. The Wi-Fi didn't work at all on the second floor, and the receptionist said the signal didn't reach up there. That's really disappointing these days. The staff, though, were friendly and helpful. Our room was large and generally pleasant, but the carpet had lots of stains and the balcony looked run-down. Old curtains added to the dated feel, and the bathroom fan squealed loudly whenever we switched on the light. My son said it felt like a haunted castle 🙈. The hotel also looked much older in person than it did in the online pictures. We only stayed two nights. If it had been longer, we would've looked for somewhere else. It's an older, basic hotel that might suit someone who can overlook that, but anyone looking for modernity, cleanliness, and comfort will likely be disappointed. For the price, there are much better places to stay.

Gohrisch is centrally placed, and public transport can get you around everywhere. We stayed at the Albrechtshof for five days. It has some old East German charm, but worked perfectly well for our hiking holiday in Saxon Switzerland. Both breakfast and dinner were good.

The rooms had a slightly musty smell, which was the one downside. Otherwise we were pleasantly surprised during our three-day stay. The reception and service staff were very friendly, and we heard about the hotel's interesting history when we arrived. The atmosphere mixes modern touches with GDR-era style.

There's plenty of parking, and the reception and service staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had lots of variety, and dinner was easy to digest. Our room was very large, with a slight GDR-era charm, though some of the furnishings could do with replacing.
