From our rooms, the view looked like it belonged on a fantasy postcard. The staff were genuinely helpful and understanding, thank you so much! We also appreciated all the little extras, including breakfast, which was hearty though not free, and the Grainau guest card for free local travel. I can't list everything we received. For me, this is the best place to stay in all Grainau.

I booked one night at Hotel Bergland on a solo trip to Grainau. It was a comfortable stay in a cozy place with Bavarian charm, and the room was comfortable too. Breakfast was good. Seems like a nice spot for couples as well as solo travelers.

Grainau is small and quiet, and we really enjoyed being here. We walked to Eibsee, about 4 km away, and the walk itself was a pleasure with lovely views. Garmisch is around 6 km away. Our room was clean and cozy, and the location was beautiful, with a breathtaking view of the Bavarian Alps and Zugspitze from the garden. Everything felt thoughtfully done, with a lot of care and good taste. We'll definitely come back!

A small hotel in a great spot on a quiet street in Grainau, and a lovely characterful place to end our holiday. The mountain views were sensational. We had superb breakfasts in the garden, though we wished we'd booked half board so we could try the suppers too. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance.

Frau Mancsevski and her husband were friendly and attentive without ever intruding, always ready to help or offer another beer. That personal welcome is what sets this hotel apart, and the food was outstanding too. Once inside, we found a superbly equipped room with every feature we could have wanted, very comfortable beds, plenty of places to sit, and access to the garden seating. The bathroom was a pleasure to use. The view from outside was underwhelming at first, partly because the front garden was being cleared, but things felt quite different once we rounded the corner and went in.
