The rooms are spacious and clean, and the hotel is in a great spot, about 30 minutes from Basel SBB by Uber or taxi. The bus is the only public transport option, and it’s a bit slow. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was great. I didn’t enjoy dinner at the restaurant, though, despite its Michelin star claim.

We tried lots of new flavors over a wonderful dinner at Eckert fine dining. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. They’re one of the few places with a non-alcoholic pairing for the menu, which was a great option. The service was lovely, and the staff spoke English. The Michelin star is well deserved.

We hadn’t been here for quite a while, but came back for the full menu and wine journey. If you get the chance, choose it, it really makes the evening a different experience. Every course was delicious, with wines selected perfectly, and Sherry with one course. The service gave just the right amount of attention. We’ll definitely return.

The staff made us feel so welcome, and breakfast was tasty with plenty to choose from. Our room was lovely and clean, right near the little pool, which looked great, though I wish we’d had time to use it. There’s also a lovely garden where you can relax. The Eckert makes a great base for getting around, with excellent local transport and France, Switzerland, and Germany all close by. We had a fabulous stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Thank you!

This was our third visit, and The Eckert is now our regular stop on the way from England to Italy. The owner and staff are very helpful, the service is excellent, and the produce is first class. We had a fabulous meal, and they made sure I could charge my car. The room was very clean and comfortable, though a little warm. We could have got out of bed to open a window! There’s a Nespresso machine in the entrance.
