Alter Wirt GmbH in Grünwald

The hotel was clean and comfortable, but I can't recommend it. Be careful with expensive, good-quality suitcases: reception staff damaged mine, and they didn't compensate me. Florian FOM handled the damage badly. This was misconduct.

The nearby forest and river are lovely for a run, and I’ve already returned once. I’ll be back again. On my second visit, we held a four day business workshop at Hotel Alter Wirt. The natural wood throughout the hotel made a supportive setting for creative teamwork. The locally sourced organic food was delicious, and the kitchen staff accommodated our group’s food intolerances. Everyone we met seemed to genuinely care and kept helping us with a smile.

The food was nice, but the still water in the room turned out to cost extra at checkout. There were no prices listed in the room, so that was an unwelcome surprise. The TV also didn't work, with no channels available.

The scenery and location are beautiful, and the hotel seems lovely. The staff member I met seemed nice too, apart from one woman with a horrible attitude who came across as very stuck up. When she found out I was from Scotland, she told me not to bother coming back. Nobody had said anything to offend her, so that was completely unnecessary.
