Victor's Residenz-Hotel Gummersbach

For a business trip, I just needed a clean room, hot shower, and comfortable bed, and those were all good here. The room was quiet at night, the heating worked properly both there and in the bathroom, and there was open parking in front of the building. The walls looked old, though the room was generally clean. Breakfast was a bit minimal, but the staff gave great service. There were also several restaurants within walking distance, which was handy during our short stay in the neighborhood. One old-fashioned touch, they use antique room keys instead of cards.

The meals were excellent, breakfast had a great selection, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom in my room looked quite dated, though the shower worked brilliantly. It's a decent German hotel chain, set away in the forest, so it's a good option if you're after somewhere quieter.
