The family behind Burgunderhof are the most wonderful people you'll meet, and they make sure your stay goes smoothly. They get up early to prepare a delicious homemade breakfast with anything you could want, and the rooms are immaculately clean. Everything there feels high quality, from the fantastic rooms to the stunning setting and indescribable views. For me, Burgunderhof is the best place to stay in all of Germany, and a must-stay bed and breakfast when visiting. I can't recommend it enough.

Great spot, an amazing host, a top outdoor pool, and a fantastic breakfast. But the room setup is very unusual: the bathroom and toilet are inside the room, divided off only with frosted glass and no other ventilation. When you use the toilet, your partner can basically see and hear you. If that's fine with you, it could be a five out of five. For me, it's a deal breaker.

The service from the Renn family was friendly and very good, and they were always trying to make the stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a big selection of organic products and a wonderful view of the Bodensee (Lake Konstanz). It was a lovely way to start the day. The hotel has a beautiful garden and a peaceful setting among the vineyards. There are trails for hiking, walking, or cycling nearby, and from Hagnau you can easily take a boat to isle Mainau or the city of Konstanz. Konstanz, Meersburg, Überlingen, Friedrichshafen, and Bregenz are also good options for outings. Burgunderhof has everything for a relaxing holiday.

The hotel was closed, but I met the charismatic chief. He's committed to making great local spirits, especially a superior biological gin made with passion. No regrets, though quality has its price.
