Flightgate Munich Airport Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals

Hmmm :) For the price, I honestly think this hotel is excellent. I was happy with the bathroom, how clean the room was, and the comfortable pillows. The bus to the airport costs 10 euros per person, and parking is around 20 euros. What you pay for this hotel feels completely reasonable. The hotel is a local office that has been beautifully converted into a hotel. Having stayed in hotels all over the world, I found this place clean, nice, and unique, and the conversion gave me a really interesting, positive feeling. Great job, bravo to the idea! I don't usually leave long comments, but I'd recommend it to everyone.

The room had almost no amenities, with no complimentary water and only the bare minimum in toiletries. Since my flight was delayed and I missed my connection, this was an unexpected night and I hadn't unpacked or brought much with me. Essentials sold at the hotel cost a lot, which made an already frustrating situation worse. There's a supermarket nearby, but guests in this situation shouldn't have to rely on that. My first room also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, despite the hotel being advertised as non-smoking. It was unmistakable and I couldn't use the room. After being stranded by flight disruption, dealing with that made things even more aggravating. There were lots of other passengers in the same situation, apparently stranded by delays. This seems to be one of Lufthansa's hotels for disrupted flights in Munich. The mood felt more like a youth hostel than somewhere you'd choose to stay. Dinner came with a voucher said to be worth 20 euros. I was glad I'd already eaten in the lounge. The meal was depressing: cheap noodles, chili made almost entirely of beans, an already-empty vegetarian option, and a salad bar with only green salad and a few tomatoes. Soft drinks were included, but it still looked like the cheapest possible food. Calling it a 20 euro dinner is unrealistic. This was an awful experience for someone stranded and unprepared. I can imagine it might feel different if you booked intentionally for an early flight and arrived ready. But as emergency accommodation for disrupted passengers, it fails badly. Honestly, everyone I encountered seemed to be stranded, and the hotel experience reflected that. It didn't feel like anyone was staying by choice.

The hotel offers excellent value for money. Our room was modern and comfortable, the water and heating worked fine, and the WiFi was good. We also liked the fitness area and thought the breakfast was decent. I can't relate to the complaints in the other reviews.

Nice looking place, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The bar had good salad and drinks. But the room was really small, the thermostat didn't work so we were cold, and the shower drain backed up overnight until the bathroom floor was wet. 😒
