For our sailing club's 100th anniversary, we couldn't have picked a better setting than the historic HADAG ferry, the GROSSER MICHEL. Members and guests who know the maritime and sailing world were impressed by the vessel, the service, and the welcoming crew. We could even watch over the captain's shoulder as we moved through the harbor. There was a fine choice of dishes from a caterer who works closely with the GROSSER MICHEL, and the bar was well stocked. Later, we relaxed on the aft deck as the harbor went by. It turned into a packed dance floor in the evening, and the crew handled the busy harbor traffic safely while also entertaining the party as DJs. Guests who had traveled from far away could unwind at the end of the night because the GROSSER MICHEL is also a hotel ship. The cabins below deck booked up quickly. A thoroughly enjoyable evening, which happened to coincide with the 2026 Hamburg Port Anniversary! U. Junge Chairman SV 'ATLANTIC' e.V.

Trips on the event ship Grosser Michel always leave me with the best stories. Celebrating the harbor birthday on deck is a real feast for the senses, and such a special experience. The ship itself is magnificent, stylish and elegant, but also wonderful and welcoming. The service is outstanding, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend everyone treat themselves to a ride on the Michel.

We celebrated New Year's Eve 25/26 on board and were really well looked after. The atmosphere was wonderfully friendly, and everything was very well organized. Absolutely recommend it! We'd love to come back. ♡

The staff on board were extremely friendly, courteous, and quick, and the service was excellent. The food was fantastic. This beautifully maintained ship dates from 1955 and was originally built as a ferry. It can now be chartered as an event ship for harbor tours in Hamburg, and it also has hotel rooms on board. I couldn't find out whether those rooms can be booked. During the cruise, we went to Finkenwerder, then past the container port and Blohm & Voss. The view from the bridge was fantastic, and you can look over the captain's shoulder while underway. After the cruise the ship was quickly turned into a party venue, with the owner as DJ. It was a lovely evening, with great food, interesting information, impressive views, and a fantastic setting.
