Alt Lohbrügger Hof

The restaurant was a real highlight, with delicious food and a great atmosphere. Staff were incredibly friendly, the room was spotless, and breakfast was amazing. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, truly a gem. I highly recommend it.

We didn’t wait long for food at the hotel restaurant, and the portions were generous. The food was tasty, though the menu felt a bit limited and I would have liked more variety. The hotel is in a quiet area, has free guest parking, and is well kept. Staff were helpful and friendly. I stayed two nights with my teenage son and we had a pleasant time. My main disappointments were no bottled water in the room and no air conditioning, which I consider important for comfort, especially in summer. I hope they’ll consider adding those. The place has a lot going for it, despite a few minor flaws, and I’d recommend it to someone looking for a cozy city stay.

The hotel is kept up well, though all the plush, antique-style furniture gives it a rather subdued feel. The bathrooms have been renovated and look quite modern. Rooms are cozy and quite nice, with amenities included. Most of the food was very good, but service was uneven. Some staff were pleasant, while a few of the women came across as rather arrogant and not very nice.

I went looking for somewhere outside central Hamburg for four days, with easy, free parking. I was skeptical about the low price I saw on Check24, so I drove over to check the place before booking. The quiet, green residential neighborhood and the building and grounds won me over, and I booked from my car. It’s a traditional building with a classic interior that’s been updated in a modern way. The rooms are large and spacious, the staff are super helpful, and the neighborhood is great. I’m extremely particular about cleanliness and couldn’t find a speck of dirt, dust, discoloration, limescale, or a fingerprint anywhere. Whoever handles the cleaning deserves an award. I’d give it 9.5 out of 10, only because there’s no refrigerator or air conditioning in the rooms. Otherwise, it’s a perfect stay and great value. I absolutely recommend it.
