Novum Hotel Holstenwall Hamburg Neustadt

The location suited me very well, and public parking is close by. Staff were all friendly and nice. I didn’t need anything fancy, so an ordinary room was just right, and breakfast was good, though nothing special. It was exactly what I wanted.

The room felt old, with dated furniture and no decoration, and there was mold all over the shower cabin. The hotel is depressing, old without any charm. I waited 15 minutes at the desk just to check out, so service was slow. Breakfast was simple and okay, nothing remarkable. Cleanliness was fine. For me, it’s a no.

Breakfast was part of the price, and the hotel is within a good walking distance of both Hamburg's center and the water. Our room was small, the bed was really uncomfortable, and we couldn’t open the window because of all the traffic outside. Parking is in a nearby garage.

I had room number 3, which was clean, spacious enough, and in good shape. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the staff seemed friendly, helpful, and available at reception. The hotel is central, with the busy nightlife area only a 5-7 minute walk away. Breakfast was okay, but keep expectations modest for an included breakfast. For the price, I had very little to complain about. I’d readily recommend it if you want a decent room near central Hamburg without spending too much.
